Weddings: Ed & Erica

November 13, 2007

Occasionally, I have brides book me over the phone with no appointment. Crazy schedules sometimes don’t allow for it. And so I met Erica on her wedding day. Of course, we had talked a lot leading up to her day, but it was pretty cool to meet her as she was getting laced up in her gown! Ed and Erica got married in York, PA at a beautiful old church and the reception was just a few blocks down the street at an old movie theater that had been converted to a reception space. Very cool. I took Megan along as a second shooter and we got some great images!

The flower girls were adorable and shushed each other during the whole ceremony. Erica had a large bridal party and had her bridesmaids in alternating chocolate and mocha dresses. The girls and the guys took turns coming up the side aisles and just the flower girls and Erica and her dad came up the center aisle. They exited the church to their guests waving Penn State pom poms. A great daytime alternative to sparklers and great for a party with big time school spirit. And I would have to say Erica had the most insane flowers I have every seen – orchids EVERYWHERE. I mean everywhere – amazing florist. If you get married in the York area, let me know, I’ll get you his name 🙂 Ed and Erica’s first dance was amazing – they completely nailed the Dirty Dancing routine!!! Amazing! I can’t wait to see their video. And I won’t post the photos of one of the groomsmen taking the song “It’s getting hot in here” LITERALLY.

Congratulations Ed & Erica! Slideshow link is after the images.

The reason that I booked Kim over the phone is that I saw a client of hers’ wedding album and immediately booked her without seeing a single other photographer’s work or even needing to meet her in person. Boy, did I get lucky!! Not only has Kim surpassed all expectations with her amazing work, but her positive, creative energy helped make our wedding day! She made everyone feel absolutely beautiful. I cannot imagine how different the day could have been without Kim’s amazing energy.
Kim surprised us with a slide show of the day’s highlights set to music. Our families and us still get choked up every time we see the slide show. Some guests even thought that the slideshow was our wedding video because Kim’s selection of photographs captured the mood and emotion of the day so well. A few of our friends have already booked Kim after seeing her work with our wedding, and I hope you do too.
Kim, please feel free to give any future clients my phone number. I could never say enough about you and our 110% satisfaction with choosing you as our wedding photographer. We look forward to working with you in the future and would never trust anybody else to capture life’s greatest moments.
